How Ordering a Skip Bin Works
Booking a skip bin does not need to be complicated. Most customers can get sorted quickly once they know the five basics below.
1. Choose your waste type
The first step is choosing the waste category that best matches what you want to throw out. This matters because different materials have different disposal costs and recycling value. If you are unsure, check our Skip Bin Waste Categories page or call Wendy before booking.
2. Choose the right skip size
Think about how much rubbish, green waste, soil, concrete, or renovation waste you need to remove. Our Skip Bin Sizes page helps you compare 2m³, 3m³, 4m³, and 6m³ skips so you can choose the size that suits your job.
3. Pick your delivery day
Need your bin in a hurry?
For Skip Hire Same Day Delivery, call Wendy by 9:30 am Monday to Friday to check availability. Online bookings are best for next-day delivery or any future date you want to lock in.
4. Tell us where the skip will go
Let us know whether the skip is going in your driveway, yard, or on the street. If access is tight, or if there are low branches, wires, gates, or a steep driveway, tell us upfront so we can plan the delivery properly.
5. Load it correctly
Once your skip arrives, make sure the contents match the booked waste category and do not go above the top edge. You can read more on our Overloading Skip Bins and Prohibited Waste pages if you want to avoid extra charges or pickup delays.
What to Have Ready Before You Call or Book
Having a few details ready makes the whole process faster and helps us recommend the right skip first go.
-
Your suburb or town
-
The type of waste you have
-
A rough idea of how much waste you need to remove
-
Your preferred delivery day
-
Where you want the skip placed
-
Any access issues such as narrow driveways, low branches, gates, soft ground, or overhead wires
-
Whether the bin needs to go on the street
If the skip needs to be placed on the road or nature strip, a council permit is usually required. We can organise that for you, but it adds cost and is not suitable for urgent same-day street placements.
Need Help Choosing the Right Waste Type or Skip Size?
A lot of first-time customers are not sure whether they need a green waste, light waste, builders' waste, soil, or concrete skip. That is completely normal.

If your load is mostly household junk, old furniture, cardboard, toys, and general clean-up rubbish, start by checking our Light General Waste page. If you are cleaning up after a renovation, flooring job, plaster removal, or mixed building materials, look at Builders Waste. If your load is only garden material, branches, leaves, weeds, and prunings, head to Garden Green Waste.

For heavy recyclable materials like soil skip bins, concrete skip bin hire, bricks, roof tiles, or pavers, use the correct category from the start. These loads are heavier and need the right bin type and size. You can compare the options on our Skip Bin Sizes page, or just call Wendy and we’ll talk you through it.
Delivery, Access and Loading Tips That Make Life Easier
To help us place your skip safely and collect it without problems, a little preparation goes a long way.
Please move cars before delivery, make sure gates can be opened if needed, and let us know about any tight spots before the truck arrives. Our truck is wider, longer, and taller than a car, so it cannot always go exactly where a customer first imagines.

A solid driveway or firm surface is best. Wet grass, muddy ground, and soft areas can cause trouble for both your property and our truck.

When loading the skip, keep everything level with the rim, not above it. Do not add prohibited items such as asbestos, chemicals, liquids, gas bottles, tyres, batteries, or other hazardous waste. For the full rules, see our pages for Overloading Skip Bins, Prohibited Waste, and Skip Bin Hire Policies.
